DALES KITCHEN

Renovations in quirky spaces are challenging and this kitchen in a traditional Dales home was no exception. The kitchen was built in a space that was previously a living room so all the plumbing and drainage services had to be installed. The metre wide stone walls certainly made this a challenge! The brief was to create a kitchen scheme befitting of the property with a contemporary feel – definitely without the traditional cottage vibe. A sleek hand-built kitchen was installed with eye catching brass fittings and a feature metre wide sink. The colour scheme creates a tranquil, warm and earthy feel, inviting you into the space. The worktops are deeper than normal to maximise useful work space and wall cabinets were not included to avoid making the space feel overcrowded and to de-emphasise the low ceiling. A well thought out lighting scheme gives the client many different ways to use the space for cooking, working and socialising.
